The Minister of Popular Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonadotogether with the governor of the state of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, joined the celebration of the Mérida Children’s Carnival 2023, where he reported that 6,800 reenactors have been deployed in 120 points throughout the national territory, to guarantee the healthy and safe entertainment of the seasonal workers during the carnival holiday.
From Parque La Isla, located in the state of Mérida, Minister Mervin Maldonado explained that since the start of the festivities, 23,000 activities have been carried out in the country, “thanks to joint work, guided by President Nicolás Maduro, this is a constitutional right, the right to recreation”.
In this sense, he explained that in the 120 national points, the Bolivarian Government had beaches, rivers, spas, parks, squares and boulevards, for the enjoyment of children and young people, with the support of re-enactors, sports, cultural, tourist and ecosocialists.
Maldonado stressed that with these activities, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, strengthens the recreation policy throughout the national territory in a healthy and safe way, in coordination with members of the Police and Bolivarian National Guard, firefighters, Civil Protection and all health teams
For his part, the governor of the state of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, stressed that with the initiative of the head of state to promote commercial exchange between the municipalities and internal national and international tourism, the territorial entity has registered a growth in its economy.
“We are receiving international visitors to the Mucumbarí Cable Car System and in parks that had been forgotten by the opposition government that was here in the state and that, jointly with the Ministry of Popular Power for Youth and Sports and the government, We have been recovering spaces like Parque La Isla that are historic for the boys and girls who come to enjoy our carnivals,” said Guzmán.
Finally, the governor of the state of Mérida stressed that the activities carried out since the beginning of the Happy and Safe Carnivals are important for the relaunch and growth of the economy in the region.
