A woman pregnant died and several people were injured, when the vehicle in which they were traveling fell off a cliff on the highway jarabacoa-Manabao, in La Vega province.
The deceased was identified as Zoraida Galván, who was five months pregnant.
The injured, still unidentified, were transferred to different health centers in the area. The state of health of the injured is unknown.
The victim and others affected, natives of the La Herradura community, southwest of Santiago, were vacationing as a family in the mountainous municipality. They were traveling in a Honda CRV SUV.
The death of Zoraida Galván has caused great consternation in the neighborhood where she lived in the city of Corazón.
