Transportation costs reached their highest level since records have been recorded

During this day, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported that the Transport Cost Index (ICT) registered an increase of 1.1% in January of this year, reaching its highest level since the registration began in 2019.

It should be noted that with this the index reached 150.18 points, continuing with the sustained increases that have been shown since December 2020. According to the entity, the explanation for this is based on the 4% increase in the human resources group which had an impact of 1,466 percentage points on the monthly variation of the general ICT.

Regarding other services related to transportation equipment, there was an increase of 4.9% compared to December 2022, and an incidence within the index of 0.408%, in which the increase in charges for circulating urban roads and highways stood out. interurban (5.2%).

On the other hand, spare parts and accessories for the operation and maintenance of the vehicle registered a monthly variation of 1.0% with an incidence of 0.087 percentage points, while financial services had a drop of 2.4% compared to the previous month, with an incidence of -0.243 percentage points.
