Around 6:00 p.m., the closing of the polls began in Tamaulipas, after a day of very low influx in the extraordinary election for Senator.
The executive member of the Local Executive Board, Sergio Iván Ruiz Castellot, reported this afternoon that 100% of the polling stations had been installed (4,777 for 2.7 million citizens to vote).
It reported that 46 incident reports were registered, in districts 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 08 and 09, related to five cases in which a person voted without being on the Electors’ Nominal List, the voting booth was changed location but justifiably and the prolonged absence of a polling officer was recorded.
The autonomous body detailed on Twitter that the polling station officials who were trained by the INE are in charge of counting the votes.
PAN denounces alleged pressure on older adults
The leader of National Action (PAN) in Tamaulipas, Luis Cantú Galván, accused that in the election this Sunday in the entity to choose the person who will occupy a seat in the Senate, Morena exerted pressure on older adults to coerce the vote.
According to the leader, citizens were threatened with taking away their support from federal programs if they do not vote for the candidate of the Morena-PT coalition, José Ramón Gómez Leal, who before being a candidate was a welfare delegate in the state.
