The deputies of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI), Juan Antonio Coloma and Jorge Alessandri, sent a letter to the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, in which they expressed their discontent and concern regarding the appointment of Galo Eidelstein (PC) as Undersecretary of the Armed Forces .
In the letter, they allude to the supposed participation that the civil engineer would have had in the “misadministration” that led to the bankruptcy of Arcis University. Along the same lines, the parliamentarians pointed out that the decision is “serious, serious, incomprehensible and even inconsequential.”
On the other hand, the deputies of Renovación Nacional, Diego Schalper, Sebastián Torrealba and Luis Pardo, will seek to reactivate the investigative commission on the bankruptcy of the aforementioned university, where they hope to clarify the facts that, according to them, blame Eidelstein.
“So that the embezzlement and misuse of resources that was made at that university continue to be investigated in depth, today probably linked to someone who wants to take over as undersecretary,” they said.
It should be noted that these are not the first doubts generated by the appointment of Galo Eidelstein in charge of the Undersecretary of Armed Forces. This, after the criticism of the former candidate for the Presidency, José Antonio Kast, who harshly criticized the engineer, branding him as the person responsible for the bankruptcy of the university. “He is one of the architects of the embezzlement of the Arcis University,” he said.
