With the establishment of a branch of the Agri VMA company, Vietnam established itself as the Asian country with the largest presence in the Special Development Zone (ZED) Mariel, located in Artemisa.
The investment, estimated at more than 21 million dollars, allows a total of five businesses with Vietnamese capital in the Cuban economic enclave, according to data from the ZEDquoted this week by the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

Agri VMA will have as its objective the manufacture and commercialization of animal feed, the breeding of pigs and other species, as well as the import and commercialization of raw materials, inputs and technologies associated with agricultural activity.
These productions will have a direct impact on food production and import substitution, contributing to the achievement of food sovereignty, highlights the source.
Other Vietnam businesses include Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation, which makes disposable diapers, feminine hygiene products, and wipes.
Also, Suchel TBV, in the production of detergents; Thai Binh Green Power, to develop a photovoltaic solar park; and ViMariel, an industrial park.
Vietnam-Cuba business forum closes with the signing of trade agreements
ZED Mariel, founded in November 2013 and with an area of 465.4 square kilometers, has 63 approved businesses from 21 countries. So far it has generated 10,532 direct jobs, according to public data.
In September 2022, Cuba and Vietnam signed seven trade agreements during the celebration of a Business Promotion Forum, regarding the visit of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz to Hanoi.
