The National Board of Together for Change ratified on Wednesday “the importance of reaching an agreement” with the IMF “that leads to a solution to the issue of external debt” and “claimed responsibility from the ruling party,” since “a possible default would be detrimental to the country.
“As indicated in the last meeting of this Table, JxC will study the details of the solution reached once a letter of intent between Argentina and the International Monetary Fund has been known, and it will be evaluated in Congress, as established by the law,” he added in a statement.
“These are times when maximum responsibility is required from all the actors, especially those who belong to the alliance in charge of the government,” he added.
The meeting was held at noon on Wednesday for two hours virtually.
The former president Mauricio Macri, the presidents of the parties that make up JxC Gerardo Morales (UCR); Maximiliano Ferraro (Civic Coalition) and Patricia Bullrich (PRO); the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta; national senators Luis Naidenoff, Alfredo Cornejo and Humberto Schiavoni; national deputies Mario Negri, Juan Manuel López and Cristian Ritondo; the provincial deputy Maricel Etchecoin and the national auditor and former senator Miguel Ángel Pichetto.
