The second office of the First Criminal Prosecutor of Huancayo decided to open a preliminary investigation for manslaughter against those responsible for the death of Julio Hurtado Sánchez, who went to the Ramiro Prialé de EsSalud hospital for treatment and died, and the cause could be an alleged negligence of the staff of this hospital.

According to the tax resolution, on July 30, 2022, Yolanda Hurtado Castañeda, went to the hospital, because her father Julio Hurtado Sánchez (81) had severe abdominal pain, he was treated by the doctor on duty and was under observation until the noon on July 31, then he was hospitalized until August 3, and the operation was scheduled for three days later.

According to the doctors, the patient was in priority IV, therefore he did not require immediate surgical attention, however on August 4 he went into septic shock and just then he was scheduled for surgery to see his bile ducts where he had stones and purulent bile, so they began to drain the bile, however there were complications with his lungs, kidneys and heart. As a result, he passed away on August 6.
For this reason, the preliminary investigation was ordered for 120 days against the personnel who treated the octogenarian, the same one that is requesting the testimony of the internist, surgeon and others.
