On the morning of this Saturday, February 18, residents of Ciudad Ojeda, Lagunillas municipality in Zulia state, reported the explosion of an oil seesaw on 63rd avenue. Firefighters from the entity are at the scene of the incident and continue to put out the fire that generated haze in the area and alerted the citizens; reported journalist Jhorman Cruz.

Until 2:00 pm on Saturday there was no the bills in social networks of the Mayor’s Office of Lagunillas or in the PDVSA official information of the event, nor the causes of it.
Manuel Estrada, political director of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Lagunilla, reported through a video posted on his Twitter account that the situation had been “controlled.” And he indicated that firefighters from the state oil company, PDVSA, showed up at the scene.

The Lagunillas municipality is located in the central area of the eastern shore of Lake Maracaibo, it has an area of 975 km². At the beginning of the 20th century, oil exploitation began in the region and the exploitation of the Lagunillas field by Royal Dutch Shell. It is currently one of the main cities of the sub-region of the lake’s eastern coast, serving as the center of operations for the state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
