The fifth batch with 60,000 new doses of pediatric vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer arrived at the cargo area terminal of the Tocumen International Airport to reinforce the National Vaccination Plan against Covid-19 that the National Government executes, through Operation PanavaC-19.
Starting this Thursday, February 3, pediatric vaccination for children between 5 and 11 years of age will continue in circuits 8-5 in La Chorrera, Panama Oeste province; in 6-1 (Chitré) and 6-2 (Los Pozos, Parita and Pesé) in the province of Herrera.
The population of children between 5 and 11 years of age to be vaccinated in the 8-5 circuit is 27,798 people in 12 vaccination centers reaching 18 districts.
In circuit 6-1, the population summoned to vaccinate is 5,479 children in six centers and in circuit 6-2, the population is 2,899 children between 5 and 11 years of age.
The national pediatric dose vaccinometer reflects a coverage of 14.2% children between 5 and 11 years old covered with the first dose against Covid-19. The target population to be vaccinated is 515,487 people.
Pediatric doses are applied in health centers, polyclinics and national and regional hospitals, in addition to fixed points in shopping malls and private hospitals such as Hospital Paitilla and Hospital Pacifica Salud.
From January 7 to 30, 73,544 pediatric doses have been applied, distributed as follows: 66,988 in healthy children; 5,134 in chronic and 1,422 with disabilities.
The authorities reiterate the call for parents to take their children to be vaccinated at the Operation PanavaC-19 vaccination posts.
It is recommended that children wear comfortable clothing; breakfasted and with the vaccination card or juvenile identity card.
