The census work will be suspended throughout the country on Carnival Monday and Tuesday, for which citizens are asked to be vigilant and if any anomaly occurs, make a report to the corresponding authorities.
While today Saturday and tomorrow Carnival Sunday, the enumerators will continue with the census work throughout the country, for which the population is asked to open the door to the Population and Housing Censuses.
The comptroller general of the Republic, Gerardo Solís, assured that the registration will be from house to house and not in the areas of culecos or where there is some type of celebration. The census taker will not register the people who are occupying a rented house during the carnivals, summer or temporary.
Javier Muñoz, head of the INEC Census Coordination, reminded citizens that if a home is visited by the enumerator and there are no residents, a visit notification sheet will be left so that they can make an appointment with the enumerator for the census interview.
