The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, yesterday delivered an ambulance to the Dr. Reynaldo Almánzar maternity hospital for the management of interhospital emergencies, which is the first assigned directly to that health center.
“I think this ambulance will help give birth to new lives and save many others,” the official said in a press release.
He assured that due to the management of President Luis Abinader, in a short time the country’s health system has been strengthened, because with this there are 86 ambulances delivered since June 2022.
“We will not stop in this process, we will continue providing the services that are required in Santo Domingo Norte, so that in the end everything translates into a dignified life for the inhabitants of the area and for Dominicans,” he stressed.
During the delivery, the minister was accompanied by the retired Major General, Juan Manuel Méndez García, who in addition to heading the Emergency Operations Center (COE), is the director of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Services of the National Health Service (SNS). ).
“We are grateful for this opportunity that the president gives us, to provide this equipment and above all for this sensitivity that he has shown to those most in need,” he said.
The director of the center that is part of the city of Health located in the aforementioned municipality, Freddy Manuel Novas, also thanked the donation and indicated that in 10 years as head of the hospital, it is the first time that they have received a fixed ambulance .
“This ambulance comes to strengthen the transfer and care of patients, both pregnant and neonatal women. From our position we assure you that we are going to make the best use of it”, highlighted the doctor.
