Five of the 10 robbers who stole Bs 200,000 from two exchange houses in the city of El Alto, were captured and presented by the Police this Friday night. According to the Minister of Government, Carlos Eduardo Del Castillo, the band is made up of Bolivians and Peruviansthe assault was planned inside the prison, since the main suspect was released two days ago from prison.

“Marco Antonio Acho Ignacio, a Peruvian nationalHe is one of the leaders of this organization who has a criminal record within the Bolivian justice system and who only a couple of days ago had regained his freedom,” said the Minister of Government at a press conference.

On Tuesday afternoon, ten delinquents two exchange houses were robbed and not one as initially reported. The two businesses attacked were Biyuyo and Riomar. The authority exhibited the security videos where you can see the violence with which the assailants entered.

Likewise, Del Castillo said that await a detailed report on the injuries to two police officers who participated in the search operations for the gang. According to reports from the police themselves, they were wounded in crossfire between uniformed officers.

“We want to anticipate that there were neighbors who were giving information that there would be a subject who jumped a fence and would have entered a lodging in the municipality of El Alto. The El Alto Regional Command arrived immediately and surprised the Intelligence police officers inside this accommodation, ”said the minister in his explanation.

Marco Antonio AI, Peruvian; Julia CS, Marco Antonio’s partner; Elías HU, David CC and Alejandra LP are the five people captured and according to the minister, one of the two women had already confessed to her participation in the gang.

Although the authorities stated that the assailants took Bs 200,000, they only showed a wad of Bs 100 as loot recovered and they said that the operations to find the rest of the gang continue in the city of El Alto.

They also showed small arms and a machine gun, but they did not find the long weapons that were used in the two robberies. One of the assailants, Elías HU, already has a history of having participated in other robberies in the city of Cochabamba in 2019, using a large-caliber weapon, however, on this occasion he was not found with that weapon.
