It is one of the most anticipated suvs today. It is undeniable that its predecessor managed to position itself as a success in its segment to such a degree that, at certain times, demand exceeded supply. It arrived in Mexico in July 2015 and since then 98,000 units have been placed. Today, the fifth generation of this family-style pickup truck, but with a markedly sporty character, was presented to the specialized media and will be on sale in April.

The 2023 Sportage debuts a platform, engines, more technology and connectivity. But the design is, without a doubt, the main point of attention, since it follows the new philosophy of the brand called Opposites United in which the Tiger Nose grille, with a new pattern, simulates a floating position in the front. The position lamps are now boomerang-style and the bodywork now shows stronger lines and widened shoulders at all four corners.
Being developed on a new platform, one of its advantages is that the total length grew by 17 centimeters, so the habitability will be appreciated by its occupants.

Both the cluster and the center console screen are joined and in this way add up to a surface area of 25”. If we speak individually, the cluster is 12.3”. It is totally digital, offers detailed and real-time information on driving and safety systems. However, as it is only a first contact, the brand did not detail what would be the elements and equipment that will make up the EX, EX Pack and SXL versions.
The sources of power will be two. For the EX level it is a 2-liter 4-cylinder that develops 153 horsepower associated with a 6-speed transmission. For the EX PACK and SXL versions, the engine has a 2.5-liter displacement with 187 hp, 178 lb-ft of torque and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia reported that the online pre-sale will be on the Kia Virtual Experience microsite and will be available in March. The official launch will be in April and at that time the prices of the new model will be known.
