MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban regime ruled this Friday on the events that occurred yesterday in front of the Iberostar Grand Packard Hotel (Havana), linked to the presence of American rapper Daniel Hernández, artistically known as Tekashi 6ix9inein that tourist facility.

Through a official notethe Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) ruled out that the musician, visiting Cuba, had been responsible for throwing tickets to the hundreds of people, mostly young people, who gathered at the place.

“On February 16, an incident occurred on the outskirts of the Iberostar Grand Packard Hotel, in Old Havana, due to the private visit of the American rapper, singer and composer Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is staying at this facility. The news caused a group of the musician’s followers to gather in front of this space with the aim of seeing it, “said the state agency.

The MINTUR indicated that it was “two people unrelated to the singer, one of them pretending to be him”, who, “disrespectfully and with clear provocative purposes, threw bills towards the population.”

“MINTUR confirms that the events that occurred are not linked to the urban artist Tekashi 6ix9ine. At this time, the singer continues his private visit to the country, ”the statement ends.

Preliminary versions of the event revealed that the American rapper, who frequently poses on social networks displaying wads of cash, had caused the disorder by throwing bills into the crowd.

Until now, Tekashi 6ix9ine has not publicly commented on what happened in front of the Packard, although an account of the artist’s fans on Instagram posted a video this Friday trying to distance him from what happened.

The spokesman for the Cuban regime Randy Alonso, director of the digital portal Cubadebate and habitual moderator of the space Round tablereacted to what happened yesterday with a article in which he described the events of yesterday afternoon as “embarrassing”.
