He also took the opportunity to criticize the opposition parties, especially former President Felipe Calderón, after the trial against his Secretary of Public Security, Genaro García Luna.
“That was the governments of before, those of the PRIAN because they are together, they have always been together. (…) Until now we continue to experience the problems of having declared a war in his own country, he did not care if innocent people died or not because he wanted to legitimize himself through a war.
“Do they want the previous regime to return? That is why we always say: not one step back, not one step to the right, one more step for the transformation of the country, always, ”he told hundreds of attendees at the opposition-governed mayor’s office.
The new tour undertaken in the city by Sheinbaum is a way of controlling damage after the crash on Line 3, considers Gustavo Lopez Montiel, Professor at the Tec de Monterrey School of Government.
“He withdrew because he had to generate damage control mechanisms and since the Metro issue generated criticism, he had no choice but to strengthen his presence in the city,” he explains in an interview with Expansión Política.
For Montiel, it was especially the opposition to Sheinbaum within Morena from which they sought to give an image of a lack of control in the city and the response to criticism and questioning of the president.
“This tour is more to rearticulate its structure, it is not a tour that seeks to impact people outside the party. Mexico City, like all states, has a policy that is strongly clientele, but these clienteles must remain active, otherwise they will be lost”, points out the political analyst.
