In Manhattan they will be closed: “Our Lady Queen of Martyrs”, located at 81 W. Arden Street, between Broadway and Sherman avenues, in the Inwood neighborhood in Upper Manhattan.

Also, Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann; Ascension; Guardian Angel; and Immaculate Conception.

In The Bronx: Holy Family; Immaculate Conception; Santa Maria; St. Angela Merici; St Brendan’s; and St. Margaret Mary. Meanwhile, in Staten Island it will be the St. Christopher.

The schools to be merged are: St. Francis Xavier with St. Clare of Assisi; and St. Gabriel with St. Margaret of Cortona, in the Bronx.

Through a statement, Cardinal Timothy DolanArchbishop of NY, said: “It is never a good day when we announce the closure of any of our beloved schools.”

They have cited a lack of money, a drop in tuition and demographic changes since the pandemic as causes.
