Delta Amacuro's most wanted scammer arrested

One of the most wanted serial scammers in Delta Amacuro, was captured this Thursday by the Tucupita police, in the capital of Delta.

According to the police report, 41-year-old Darwin Rondón was preparing to defraud two new victims at the gates of Banco de Venezuela, the Tucupita passenger terminal office.

At the time of his capture, he was with two older adults to whom he had offered food combos, this being his modus operandi.

Rondón operated in this way since 2021, when several victims publicly denounced having been scammed.

Darwin Rondón would go to the outskirts of banking entities, offer various food combos at low prices to his victims, mostly older adults from the Warao indigenous people, take their cards, data and never return.

Captured alias “the card holder”

Alias ​​”el tarjetero” was registered in a surveillance video in a Tucupita business.

From this moment, the Public Prosecutor’s Office began the investigations and generated the alert among the security agencies.

On Thursday morning, he was detained outside one of the offices of the Central Bank of Venezuela.

He was captured and is being held at the Guasina checkpoint while the investigations are ongoing.
