Nicaraguan migrant William Castillo, 22, is in a delicate condition in a hospital in Miami, in the United States, after being attacked with a firearm by a subject on a public highway. His relatives request help to cover medical expenses.
According to statements made to the international chain Telemundo by William Josué Castillo, father of the compatriot, his son is in critical condition, the young man is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, after a subject hit him 16 shots and one of the bullets hit his head.

The young Nicaraguan was shot when he was riding a bicycle to a gas station to buy a soft drink on February 6 in the area of NW 10 Ave. and Flager Street, in Little Havana.
The Nicaraguan’s aunt, Rossana Padilla, in the fundraising campaign on the Gofundme platform, pointed out that the young man “is in a very critical condition and the next two weeks will determine if he will survive. Doctors say it’s a miracle he’s still alive. All the hospital staff are working around the clock to save his life.”
“Unfortunately the bullet hit the brain and the medical team still does not know how bad the result will be, but in addition to all the prognosis, he is still here fighting for his life,” Padilla added.
He stated that they have acquired a debt of more than five thousand dollars in medical expenses and have resorted to the generosity of people, however, he had only been able to raise $200 dollars in the first three days.
Castillo left an 11-month-old son in his native country. She migrated in search of better life opportunities and to help raise the child.
