Fernandez: "Sometimes the noise of politics does not let us hear the murmur of the people"

President Alberto Fernández warned that “sometimes the noise of politics does not allow us to hear the murmur of the people”, maintaining that “when people murmur, what they are demanding is to live better, to have a sidewalk, a paved street, a secondary school and a university so that their children can progress”.

“Argentina needs everyone to improve our knowledge,” said the president from the Buenos Aires town of Florencio Varela, adding: “For there to be equality, we need technical education, science, and universities to proliferate a lot.”

He affirmed that taking universities to the “length and breadth of the country” is a way of guaranteeing “equality”, recalling that the people of Buenos Aires “understood” this need in 1820 when they promoted the creation of the UBA.

Fernández maintained that “comparing” with the government that preceded him, referring to the administration of Mauricio Macri, would be like “lowering the bar too much.”

The president also highlighted that the Frente de Todos “has started 167 projects” of works “in all the universities” of the country, with “50 billion pesos” dedicated to “constructing buildings” in the houses of higher studies.
