In the midst of the policy that the national government is advancing to add the private schools to its Fair Prices program, the Ministry of Education of the province of Buenos Aires promised to accompany this measure.
In this way, the private schools they will have limits on the increase in fees that will be paid this year, within the framework of a new school period. According to what was established with the institutions there will be caps on increases until July.
To seal the agreement, the representatives of the chambers of private schools they signed an act with the general director of Culture and Education of Buenos Aires, Alberto Sileoni, at the headquarters of the educational portfolio in La Plata.
Through a statement, the portfolio indicated that “In this way, the institutions grouped in the provincial private management entities will be able to face the payment of salaries and other costs, making it easier for families to sustain education for their children”.
They also state: “Furthermore, contemplating the inflationary reduction proposed by the National Secretariat of Domestic Trade, in the minutes the provincial authorities commit to join efforts together in order to accompany the achievement of that objective”.
The agreement establishes that “educational entities with a state contribution at the Initial, Primary, Secondary, Technical Secondary, Agrarian and specialized in Art and Higher levels, will distribute between the months of March and July, including the increases in fees already established for this school year. and/or to be established in accordance with current jurisdictional regulations”.
In this sense, the increases will be: in March 16.80%, April 3.35%, May 3.35%, June 3.35% and July 4%. The agreement will be valid until July 31 of this year.
Who participated in the agreement
As reported by the educational portfolio on behalf of the institutions were: the Association of Argentine Private Educational Entities (ADEEPRA), the Civil Association of Private Education Institutes of Buenos Aires (ACIDEPBA), the Association of Argentine Private Institutions (AIEPESA), the Catholic Education Council (CEC), the Council of Evangelical Christian Education (CECE), of the Educational Management Space (EGE) and of the Federation of Educational Cooperatives of the Province of Buenos Aires (FECEABA).
As for the provincial government, the following participated: Minister Alberto Sileoni; the chief of staff of the DGCyE Pablo Urquiza; the administrative undersecretary, Diego Turkenich; the Undersecretary of Education, Claudia Bracchi; and the director of Private Education, Marcela Cabadas.
