National government delivered aid to earthquake survivor in Türkiye

Rosa Grözde is a Venezuelan citizen who was in Türkiye when the 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred; she is in Ankara and is receiving help from the National Government.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, explained that Grözde is at the Venezuelan embassy in Ankara.

“The Venezuelan citizen Rosa Fariñas de Grözde, a survivor of the earthquake on February 6, was successfully transferred together with her 15-year-old son from Hatay -disaster zone- to Ankara -Türkiye capital- where she receives support from the Venezuelan Government through of Ambassador José Bracho. Congratulations! ”, She wrote on the social network.

Villegas arrived in Ankara, Türkiye, on February 8, on the eve of the earthquake, and met with the Venezuelan resident to hear her testimony, reports an AVN dispatch.

Grözde, a Venezuelan resident of Iskenderun, saved her life and that of her husband and son when the building where they lived collapsed and where all their neighbors died, including a brother-in-law, his father-in-law and his nephews.

“My brother-in-law and one of his older children passed away. They were completely covered. My father in law too. All my neighbors. The only ones who escaped unharmed were my husband, my son and I by the grace of God. We are sleeping in the car,” said Rosa Grözde.

The strong earthquake, which struck Türkiye and Syria, already left a balance of more than 36,000 deaths.

Specifically, the balance of Tuesday presented by the United Nations (UN) revealed that, of the total number of deaths; 31,974 dead belong to Türkiye and 3,688 to Syria.

In order to achieve recovery in the affected areas, the World Health Organization (WHO) requested a financial aid of 43,000 million dollars.

It should be remembered that, to deal with the emergency, more than 60 countries have provided their support for Türkiye and Syria.

The WHO claimed that the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria was the “worst natural disaster” in 100 years in the European region.
