MEP Javier Nart continually demanded from the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo the release and respect for the physical integrity of Dora María Téllez, who was imprisoned on June 13, 2022 and was recently released.

The opponent is part of the group of political prisoners that the Ortega regime stripped of their Nicaraguan nationality and exiled for allegedly being “traitors to the homeland.”

The MEP sponsored the member of the Renewing Democratic Union (Unamos) through the campaign “Release Chains”. At the time, Nart assured that this initiative means “helping, showing solidarity, promoting all the possibilities one has to improve and even freeing so many Nicaraguan democrats from the dungeons of the dictator Daniel Ortega and his wife Rosario Murillo.”
