Algeria strengthens its economic and commercial cooperation with Cuba

(EFE).- The Algerian Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, co-chaired in Havana, with the Minister of Foreign Trade, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, the work of the intergovernmental commission on economic, commercial, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, the Cuban authorities announced on Tuesday.

Saihi, who traveled at the head of an important delegation, stressed that this meeting constitutes “a new milestone and an opportunity to promote the process of bilateral cooperation and anchor the tradition of coordination and consultation, particularly in areas of common interest between the two friendly countries”.

During the visit of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel to Algeria in mid-November, his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced the cancellation of outstanding interest on Cuba’s debt and the postponement of the repayment of “until further notice ” just as he decided to offer a solar power plant to the Island.
