Senapred declared a red alert for Peñaflor due to a forest fire

During the last hours, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) declared a red alert for the commune of Peñaflor, Metropolitan region.

The information was provided by the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) due to the Puente Pelvin forest fire that is currently in combat and that compromises 20 hectares near inhabited places.

According to Senapred, “all necessary and available resources will be mobilized, in additional support to what has already been deployed by CONAF, Firefighters and the National System for Disaster Prevention and Response. In this way, action will be taken to control the situation, given the extent and severity of the event.”

5 brigades, 1 tanker truck, 2 helicopters and 1 CONAF plane work at the site; together with the Peñaflor Fire Department – ​​Padre Hurtado, El Monte, Isla de Maipo, Buin, Talagante, Metropolitano Sur, San Bernardo, Maipú and Melipilla; Provincial Delegate and municipal personnel with the support of 2 tank trucks.

It should be noted that based on what was decreed by the entity, the red alert will be maintained from today until conditions so warrant.
