The launch of properties on the market grew 24.6% between January and October 2021 compared to the same period last year. The survey was carried out by the Brazilian Association of Real Estate Developers (Abrainc) in conjunction with the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe).
New developments in this period totaled 107,390 units. The survey uses data shared by 18 associated developers.
In the quarterly evaluation, from August to October of last year, however, there was a drop of 9.8% compared to the same months of 2020. 38,680 properties were launched in the period.
In the 12-month period, considering October 2021 as the end month, 142,282 units were launched. The volume corresponds to an increase of 20.8% in the real estate market in relation to the previous 12 months.
Sales
Regarding sales, in the first ten months of 2021, 119,866 units were sold, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. In the 12-month period, 146,901 new properties were sold, which represents 10.3% more than in the previous period.
For Abrainc, the result indicates a good performance in the sector over the past year. In a note, the entity points out that there is optimism among entrepreneurs for the perspectives of 2022, but that they remain attentive to the economic scenario.
