He Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued two alerts, one orange and one yellow, for strong storms in the center and east of the country on the afternoon of this Friday.
According to the agency, a “Atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country” and generates “storms, some occasionally strong”. “It should be noted that in stormy areas, intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail, intense electrical activity and gusts of strong wind,” the agency reported.
Around 5:15 p.m., he updated both warnings, which moved and began to affect only the east of the national territory. In addition, at 18:30 the orange warning ceased, but the yellow one remained.
