Some 1,190 panelas of presumed cocaine were seized in Sucre state, by the strategic forces of the Ministry of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, reported the M/G Richard Lopez VargasNational Anti-drug Superintendent (Sunad), at a press conference from the Port of La Guaira.
The seizure was made over the weekend in the waters of the Sucre state, after police, criminal and military intelligence allowed the arrest of fifteen citizens, whose identification was not revealed; and that they are already under the orders of the Public Ministry.
The National Anti-drug Superintendent was accompanied by the Vice Minister of the Integrated Police System, M/G Elio Estrada Paredes; the Vice Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, C/G Humberto Ramírez and the Commander of the National Coast Guard Command, C/A Jorge Agüero Montes.
The stash weighs 1,331 kilos of presumed cocaine packaged in 1,190 panelas. The retention was carried out by sea, through the work of the group of strategic operators made up of the PNB, Sunad, FANB, among other security and protection institutions.
The National Anti-drug Superintendent, M/G Richard López Vargas, explained that the 1,331 kilos of cocaine seized were destined for the Caribbean. “The investigations continue. We work to be more efficient and effective with police investigations, thanks to the integrated work of all forces to dismantle the criminal route and organization.”
López Vargas assured that during the month of February, 2 million 441 thousand 617 kilos of drugs have been seized in its different traces, in more than a thousand procedures, which left 1,680 detainees.
Likewise, in the state of Sucre, there are 1,332,208 kilos of drugs seized in 78 procedures with 104 detainees, being the state with the highest seizures, followed by Falcón and Aragua.
