The radical Martín Berhongaray, an ally of Martin Lousteau and winner of the internal elections that took place this Sunday in the province of La Pampa, affirmed that his victory demonstrates “the need for radicalism to have a leading role” within Together for Change , in the framework of the provincial and national elections this year.
“This election has transcended the borders of La Pampa. It is very important for radicalism at the national level and above all to fire a shot by elevation: the importance and the need for this party to be in the foreground, to have a leading role within the coalition and national politics,” Berhongaray said in statements to the press in the Pampas capital.
Likewise, the now JxC candidate for governor for the May 14 elections thanked Lousteau and Emiliano Yacobitti for their presence in the province to accompany him in the festivities.
“The accompaniment on this journey and throughout the process that we have taken with great seriousness and rectitude in all these years is comforting”indicated.
Finally, he said that today “is not so much a day to celebrate but to feel the tremendous responsibility that lies ahead of us.”
Lousteau: “The citizens of La Pampa chose a candidate without marketing”
“I want to congratulate Martín Berhongaray, the radical party and Together for Change. It was a very interesting primary that just consecrated the best candidate. The citizens said so. La Pampa has a luxury candidate, with a lot of conviction and character. In Congress we work together and you can see the rigor and seriousness of their work”, said Senator Martín Lousteau (UCR) through a press release.
From La Pampa, Lousteau maintained that Berhongaray “is a candidate for Governor for these times, without marketing, honest, with knowledge of a lot of technical issues and who knows his province as few candidates can say they do.”
Finally, the senator pointed out that “the public has consecrated a candidate of the stature of Martín Berhongaray, not only for La Pampa and Juntos por el Cambio, but also for Argentina.”
“The election is the final sprint of a job that we have been doing. We do it, there are governors, mayors and candidates in different places. If one believes in a collective project, they submit to the judgment of the citizens in the PASO or in the internal and then accompanied by the role assigned to it by the citizens,” the senator concluded.
