Maduro urges the strengthening of the PSUV's grassroots political organization in high schools and universities

The ruler Nicolás Maduro convened a national youth congress for March 11 and 12, which will serve as the founding event of the Juventud Venezuela mission. The announcement was made on February 12 at the end of the official march on the occasion of the 209 years of the Battle of Victory

The ruler Nicolás Maduro urged the strengthening of the grassroots political organization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in high schools and universities. With the excuse of not failing the legacy of former President Hugo Chávez and facing “foreign aggressions”, he stressed that youth must be forged in militancy and grassroots leadership.

Maduro made the statements at the Miraflores Palace, located in downtown Caracas, at the end of the march called by the ruling party for the 209th anniversary of the Battle of Victory and Youth Day. On the spot, the leader announced the creation of the Youth Venezuela mission, an initiative that, he said, will be “founded” in a national youth congress to be held between March 11 and 12.

“It is a broad call, without exclusion of any kind, to do much more in culture, sports and youth housing,” he said. At the same time, he appointed the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, and the 2020 National Assembly (AN) deputy Grecia Colmenares as those in charge of preparing the call and the agenda of issues that will be addressed at the meeting. .

Maduro focused his speech on bragging about the achievements of the so-called revolution, despite foreign sanctions against his administration. According to his vision, during his management, educational issues and student welfare have been improved. «Youth today is worth, it is listened to, it is taken into account. Today the youth participates in all spaces and this is one of the most important achievements of the revolution.

He added that in the last 20 years socialism, first led by Hugo Chávez and now under his leadership, has managed to build powerful organizations and universities such as the National Experimental Security University (UNES) and 34 other higher education institutions, which “ They have made the country have a record of 92% schooling and concentrate 82% of youth in public schools.

On the other hand, he told the young people that “what happens in Venezuela will depend on you. Whether Venezuela becomes a colony of the gringos again or a homeland belonging to the people will depend on you.” He urged the youth to keep up the fight so that the country continues on the road to recovery.
