Petro sticks its nose in Peru again

Colombian President Gustavo Petro once again referred to Peru, this time comparing the extensive deployment of the PNP in the Historic Center of Lima, last Thursday, with the Nazis.

“In Peru they march like Nazis, against their own people, breaking the American Convention on Human Rights,” said the leftist president and former M-19 guerrilla during an official event on the possession of Colombian ambassadors abroad.

The comment was not the only unfortunate thing. In addition, the Colombian president demanded that all those who signed the American Convention on Human Rights, including the United States, must “apply it, wherever (the convention) is violated” and not “only to leftist governments,” without mentioning anything about what What really happens in Peru with the violent protests and their serious consequences.

AN OFFENSE TO THE POLICE

In statements to Perú21, former Foreign Minister Miguel Rodríguez Mackay said that “Petro offends the Peruvian National Police with this comparison” and “is once again meddling in the Peruvian arena.”

“The PNP must be appreciated and valued. The Foreign Ministry should not only issue a protest note, but materialize it by withdrawing the ambassador of Peru in Bogotá ”, he stated.
