A Metrogas operator was injured with serious burns this Saturday and there is another worker missing after the explosion and the collapse of a house in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Devoto, police sources reported.

The event occurred after 12 in a house located in Pedro Morán and Quevedo, where two operators from the Metrogas company were working due to a gas leak.

For unknown reasons, there was a strong explosion that caused the collapse of the house located in that place and the fire of two vehicles that were parked in the area.

“One of the workers, about 40 years old, was transferred to the Zubizarreta hospital, where he is hospitalized in serious condition,” the head of the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME) Alberto Crescenti explained to Télam.

In addition, the director of SAME confirmed that he does not know the whereabouts of the other worker and if there were other people present inside the propertyso it is expected that City Firefighters can extinguish the fire.

For this, some seven units of the Same are in the place, together with personnel from the K9 Unit of the City Fire Department, to search for people, and personnel from the Aid Guard at the place.
