During an interview with the channel TyC Sportsthe former defender who won the 1978 and 1986 World Cups with the Albiceleste said that “it was a great emotion to see Argentina champion” and highlighted the figure of the captain, Lionel Messiwho “knew how to lead the boys to the way they had to play.”
“He was the most important player in the World Cup,” summed up the only Argentine soccer player to accumulate two titles in that sporting event.
passarella indicated that “the other colleagues also supported him a lot, they made a great effort and they gave everything as they wanted”, while reiterating that “he deserves it Messi“.
