They will remove disused cables from telecommunications companies

The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (indotel), the Town Hall National District and service providers telecommunicationscoordinate joint actions on the removal of disused aerial cables in the Central Polígono of the city of Santo Domingo.

Through a statement it is explained that this project seeks to reduce the visual contamination and condition the aerial wiring in disuse of services of telecommunications in the central polygon of the National District.

  • The intervention would cover an area of ​​4.34 square kilometers in its first phase, included between the avenues John F Kennedy, Winston Churchill, 27 de Febrero and Ortega y Gasset.

In a first meeting, the president of the Board of Directors of the indotel, nelson brookstated that this initiative will receive the support of the institution and emphasized that it is in the interest of President Luis Abinader to reduce visual pollution in the city.

In addition, he stressed that the solution to this situation would help to better appreciate the beauty of the city of Santo Domingo for the tourists who visit it.

On his side, the mayoress of National District, Carolina Mejiapondered that the companies of telecommunications have responded to the call of this meeting and raised the commitment of the joint work of the entities involved for its solution.

Likewise, he reiterated that it is necessary to carry out this action, not only to reduce the visual contaminationbut also for the safety of the passerby.

The executive director of the indotel, Julissa Cruzreiterated the call to the parties involved and to define working commissions.

The regulatory body for telecommunicationsthe National District Mayor’s Office and service representatives telecommunications They agreed to meet again and integrate the SOUTH Electricity Distribution Company (Edesur) and other players in the sector.

The service providers They had already launched a pilot plan in the Seralles sector, National District, as a model to extend to other parts of the city.
