The former secretary of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), Pedro Miguel González, filed appeals for reconsideration before the Electoral Tribunal and also before the National Executive Committee of the group so that the decision to reserve 114 positions for possible alliances does not remain firm.
González formally presented the Appeals for Reconsideration based on articles 118 and 119, literal b of the Statute, regarding the decisions that were reflected in Resolutions 017/CEN/2023, 019/CEN/2023 and 020/CEN/2023, dated February 2, 2023.
The politician requested that the Resolutions “do not remain firm until the appealed body resolves the appeals for reconsideration of Resolutions 017/CEN/2023 019/CEN/2023 AND 020/CEN/2023.”
It also considered that the party’s CEN violated Due Process by referring this and other resolutions to the Electoral Tribunal, without complying with the provisions of article 118 of the statute.
He also asked the members of the National Executive Committee to reconsider the decision embodied in Resolution 019/CEN/2023 and allow party members, in the aforementioned constituencies, to fully participate as pre-candidates in the primary elections called for the next June 11.
