The political party Avanza País filed a constitutional complaint against the legislator of the Perú Democrático party, Guillermo Bermejo, for crimes against public tranquility and rebellion, in such a way that his judicial prosecution and his disqualification from public service for 10 years are requested.
The document states that Bermejo Rojas would have committed the aforementioned crimes upon arriving in the city of Ica just when a revolt began in the region against the Government of Dina Boluarte and Congress.
Likewise, the request presented by Avanza País specifies that the leftist congressman would have “incited” students from the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) to take over the house of studies to shelter the protesters who came from various regions of the country. and that, in addition, he possesses “weapons and audiovisual material” that was used in the marches, as reported by Dircote.
The bench establishes the bases of its complaint in articles 38 and 39 of the Political Constitution, referring to the duty to be at the service of the nation and the duty to defend the Constitution; act that the legislator would not have complied with since, for Avanza País, Bermejo has been pouring “verbal attacks through the media not only against the current government, but also against Congress itself.”
The text was sent this Tuesday, February 7, to the president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations and so far there has not been a political response from the accused Guillermo Bermejo.
