Government says that Ten Tanker would be operational again from this Thursday

The Government Spokesperson Minister, camila vallejo, reported this Thursday that the Ten Tanker plane -dedicated to fighting forest fires- would resume its functions today. This, after it presented a technical fault on Tuesday and was left inoperative for a few days.

“We had a malfunction in the Ten Tanker but we also want to tell you good news, given that in coordination with the government authorities in conjunction with the company, we quickly requested the availability of the mechanics to repair this damage, and today it should already be able to be up and running again, sooner than expected,” Vallejo said at a press outlet.

According to the spokesperson, the ship will be deployed in the Hualqui area to “fight the fire that is taking place in that territory.”

Let us remember that the executive director of the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf), Christian Little, said on Tuesday that the Ten Tanker suffered a technical malfunction – “a crack in a valve,” he said on that occasion – and that it would be operational again on Saturday. However, this was anticipated.

The commercial agent of the Ten Tanker, Ezequiel Sicardi, announced yesterday that the ship would be operational before Saturday. “We were able to detect that we luckily had a way to repair it locally with all the spare parts that have come on board the aircraft, and that greatly reduced work times,” she commented.

The Ten Tanker arrived in Chile on Monday to fight the forest fires that affect the center-south of the country.

Conaf, with the support of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture, managed the arrival of the Ten Tanker in Chile.
