The National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported this Wednesday that the cartographic update reached one hundred percent in the city of El Alto. Throughout the country, this work reaches 67 percent.

The authority remarked that two thirds of the work was exceeded throughout the national territory, where two departments were completed, Pando and Beni, and to date Oruro meets 95 percent, Chuquisaca 72 percent, Tarija 69 percentPotosí 67 percent, La Paz 66 percent, Cochabamba 61 percent, and Santa Cruz 57 percent.
“Also the base cartography, that is, cartography where all populations are represented from a cadastral point of viewas well as natural accidents and the main reference points, it was completed one hundred percent,” the official reported.
Regarding intermediate cities and scattered areas, he explained that in Oruro we are with 87 percent, Potosí 57 percent, Chuquisaca 45 percent, Tarija 38 percent, Santa Cruz 32 percent, Cochabamba 28 percent and La Paz nine percent.

He admitted that the heavy rains affect work, especially in La Paz and Santa Cruz., and to a lesser extent in Chuquisaca and Tarija. However, he assured that the work continues “at the planned pace and performance”, because populations that have road access are prioritized.
“In Santa Cruz we are concentrating on intermediate cities that they do have access by roads, mostly paved, all of them have easy access and in April we will move to the dispersed area, similar treatment will be done in La Paz, Chuquisaca and Tarija”, he added.
Finally, it ratified the pilot test by the end of March and the experimental census for June or July of this administrationwork that will serve to have a final version of the ballot that will be used on the day of the census, on March 23, 2024.
“In September we have had an initial version of the report card, which has undergone minimal changes throughout the qualitative tests to see its performance, but the most important are the cognitive tests, associated with how well the questions and answers are understood and this was done with more than a thousand people, the wording was adjusted to guarantee the maximum possible performance, with the pilot test we are going to have a third feedback and with the experimental census at the end of June or Julywe will do the last feedback to have the final version in September of this year”, he pointed out.
