Work stoppage ends at the Social Security Fund

With the signing of the agreement to lift the strike by the general director of the Social Security Fund, Enrique Lau Cortés, and the ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc, the strike by a group of workers from the institution came to an end.

Dr. Lau Cortés thanked the Ombudsman’s Office and the Administration Attorney’s Office for the support and mediation that, for three and a half months, they provided in the negotiations to reach an understanding between the parties.

In this sense, he expressed: “I hope that with this agreement we can once again provide the service with quality and respect that the population deserves, and that with this experience we can reflect on the improvements that we have to make as an institution, to be at the level in the expectation of our population.

For his part, the ombudsman indicated that there were 16 sessions of arduous negotiations, in which the administration and unions of officials laid down their interests and reached a consensual agreement.

The agreement was signed early today Wednesday.
