The Ministry of Health reported 22,192 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, thus reaching a positivity rate of 21.12% in the last 24 hours nationwide. Also, he pointed out the performance of 93,028 exams, PCR and antigen tests. While in the Metropolitan Region positivity reached 20.59%.
Of the 22,192 confirmed cases, 13,374 correspond to symptomatic people and 2,286 of them did not present symptoms. In addition, 6,532 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in Chile reached 2,190,561 people. Of that total, 113,734 remain active cases. While the recovered people reached 2,030,468.
On the other hand, in terms of deaths, in the last 24 hours there were 12 deaths from Covid-19. In this way, 39,733 people have died since the start of the pandemic.
Regarding hospitalizations. 474 people remain in Intensive Care Units, among which 348 of them are on mechanical ventilation. As for the total number of critical beds, there are 278 of them available.
Meanwhile, the regions with the highest increase in confirmed cases in the last week are Ñuble, Los Lagos, Maule and Biobío. While those with the highest positivity in the same time range are Coquimbo, Antofagasta, Tarapacá and Magallanes.
