The National Foundation for the Development of STEAM (FUNDESTEAM) in coordination with the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) opened the call for the Diploma in STEAM Education with an emphasis on the Robotics Olympics 2.0, on the way to the World Robotics Olympics Panama 2023.
Faced with this, they extended the invitation to all teachers from official institutions to participate in this Diploma.
Registration for the diploma for public sector teachers is completely free and is open by entering the Meduca website where you can find the form with all the details to participate in this second version of the STEAM diploma, which is very important for paper that Panamanian teachers must play against the global commitment of robotics in Panama.
The diploma will be delivered for four months in virtual mode, and has five modules, namely: Module 1, STEAM and OEA Education; Module 2, Methodology for the Development of Educational Robotics Projects; Module 3, Robotics Olympics and its Regulations; Module 4, Programming in Arduino or Lego We-Do and Cisco Academy; and Module 5, Advanced Programming in Arduino or Lego We-Do and Cisco Academy.
The courses will be taught in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and in the evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday through a virtual platform, in which 240 academic hours will be taught.
At the end of the diploma, it is reported that the first 500 registered teachers will receive from FUNDESTEAM an educational robotics kit that will allow them to organize robotics clubs in their schools and colleges and train and prepare students who can participate in the different categories of the Olympics. regional, national and global robotics.
Teachers from private institutions are also cordially invited, entering the MEDUCA website where they can access the form and all the information and requirements of this great educational call for STEAM education.
The STEAM Diploma is part of the efforts and legacy carried out by the organizers of the World Robotics Olympics in Panama under the coordination of FUNDESTEAM, with the support of the First Lady of the Republic Yazmín Colón de Cortizo as Ambassador of STEAM Education for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Minister of Education Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, the full national government and a solid alliance of the public and private sectors.
