Congressman Bolota calls the Varela brothers criminals, drug traffickers

Judith Pena | February 7, 2023

This afternoon during the period of incidents in the National Assembly, the deputy Jairo Bolota Salazar again attacked the former deputy José Luis Popi Varela, after a confrontation generated yesterday through social networks between the two politicians, due to the lack of air conditioning inside the Legislative compound .

On this occasion, Bolota called Popi Varela and her brother, former President Juan Carlos Varela, “criminals, drug traffickers” and said that during their administration they dedicated themselves to controlling the Public Ministry and “paid for getting people out of cases.”

Bolota pointed out that despite the fact that Popi calls him corrupt, the Varela administration carried out several audits and none of them found evidence of corruption.

Bolota, took his table fan to the plenary session, after denouncing that due to issues of corruption by Popi Varela, the airs of the Assembly had not been repaired.
