Conmebol launches joint candidacy to organize the 2030 Soccer World Cup

Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay officially launched this Tuesday their candidacy to organize the 2030 Soccer World Cup in an act that took place at the facilities of the Argentine Soccer Association (AFA).

The 4 presidents of the applying federations, the president of the South American Soccer Confederation, Alejandro Domínguez, and the sports ministers of each country were present.

The motto of the launch was “Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile 100 years” referring to the fact that Uruguay held the first World Cup in the year 1930.

Historical players were present such as Jorge Burruchaga, Oscar Ruggeri, Ricardo Giusti, Omar Larrosa, Ricardo Julio and the current world champion with Argentina, Franco Armani.

Other bids that will possibly seek to organize the 2030 World Cup are:
Portugal – Spain

Morocco

Egypt – Saudi Arabia – Greece
