Angelo Palmeri proposes sole candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections

In Palmeri’s opinion, Un Nuevo Tiempo is at the service of holding the primaries and the objective is to achieve the political conditions for them to be “a tool for building unity.”


Angelo Palmerinational secretary of party organization A New Time (UNT)said that all the political factors of the country must walk in unity to achieve a single candidacy that helps to face the political reality that the country is experiencing during the primary election process of this 2023.

During an interview with Globovisión, Palmeri stressed that it is necessary to understand that plurality is a rule and the exception is unity. “We have to walk in unity to build a candidacy that through a Venezuelan or Venezuelan allows us to have a better chance of obtaining the presidency in 2024 accompanied by a government pact with all the social and political forces of the country,” he said.

He expressed that UNT is at the service of holding the primaries and the objective is to achieve the political conditions so that they are “a tool for the construction of unity.”

He invited all political sectors to sit at the table to talk, to settle the differences, “not because of the politicians, but because of the Venezuelans who are asking us, and so we can present a single candidate for the 2024 presidential elections.”

“We do not have the truth, but we have the tools and a solid proposal, where not only the parties of the Unitary Platform subscribe to it, but also other important factors that do not conform to it, have expressed their intention to participate and build these primaries together,” he stressed. .

He explained that from the political awning they have a permanent action agenda to accompany and provide a solution to Venezuelans. “Our governor of the state of Zulia, Manuel Rosales, our mayors, our legislators and councilors, have a permanent agenda to support the most vulnerable sectors, the issue of public services is a huge concern and dignifies the lifestyle of Venezuelans” .

He stressed that through the III Ideological and Programmatic Congress all the states have prepared to create specific plans, which from government spaces have as a priority the solution of public services and give Venezuelans quality of life. education, housing,
health and all important issues for society are always present on the agenda of our organization”, he specified.

He added that the support of the political organization to the sectors and civil society that they have been in the streets demanding a better quality of life and decent wages. “As social democrats we are always accompanying and we are very involved with the social and sectoral struggles. For us, the teaching profession is the backbone of the formation of a society, just like the health sector and other unions”.

“We will not be able to have a future and a present for Venezuelans with teachers who receive a salary that is not enough for them at all. A fair salary should serve a family of at least 3 or 4 members, they deserve salary improvements and a decent infrastructure to be able to carry out their work, not only are they poorly paid but they teach in deplorable conditions, ”he emphasized.
