Alex Gómez Falcón is the leader of the group of eight members –among them Comrade ‘Cusi’ – from the Ayacucho Defense Front (Fredepa) who was captured by the Directorate against Terrorism (Dircote) of the National Police, after inciting and financing the marches in the aforementioned region against the government of Dina Boluarte.
As evidenced by Peru21, this character is in charge of dictating the provisions that are provided from the central committee (of Sendero Luminoso) and distributing the tasks among the people who make up the regional committee.
Gómez denied everything and assured the Police that he was a simple university student. “I’m a college student (…). I am not a terrorist and I have not committed any crime,” he said.
However, yesterday, the Sunday newspaper Panorama revealed that, in addition to these coordinations, Gómez Falcón had in his possession a USB with Senderista information inside, with 12 documents on the strategies to be developed by Fredepa.
One of these strategies carried the phrase “no to impunity for the murder of Abimael Guzmán Reinoso.” In another document you could see harangues in favor of the genocidal Guzmán Reinoso. “Long live President Gonzalo, the greatest revolutionary in Peruvian history,” read the information revealed by the Sunday newspaper.
In another file, reference was made to the bloodiest attacks committed by Sendero. This was entitled “The historical truth is making its way: the people’s war in Peru is the greatest revolutionary feat in Peruvian history.”

- Through Fredepa (founded by Abimael Guzmán in 1969), Sendero Luminoso seeks to reorganize itself and with the violent demonstrations in Ayacucho they would have wanted to strengthen themselves.
