And what do they expect?

Valentine jumps into the void

And what are the women and men of the last generations waiting for to demonstrate their willingness to participate in the “historical relay of the political torch”?

In the Fuerza del Pueblo we have two survivors from the generation of the sixties, we were led by Professor Bosch and we are united by the cohesion of political ideas in 63 years of coexistence. Fuerza del Pueblo is the organization for the generational relief and the passing of the historical torch. But, it is obvious the indecisions of members of the last generations to decide opting for candidacies. They are excellent leaders who have the grace to receive the torch from an intermediate generation located between the two of us, those of the sixties, with those excellent leaders. That intermediate headed by Dr. Leonel Fernández.

Among these excellent leaders there are those who can position themselves electorally due to their recent contributions and recognized work, and could be successfully elected.

And what does Omar Fernández expect to define his candidacy for senator for the National District? We have seen them grow on his own merits, becoming a deputy, after assuming the cause of not touching the Constitution, which gave him political activity.

And what does Keyla Reyna expect to opt for the candidacy for the senatorial office for the province of Santo Domingo? Over two decades watching her grow due to her immense capacity for political work without neglecting her condition as her mother and wife, earning the space of being the most voted in the party in recent elections.

And what do Rafa Paz and Nerys Martínez expect to be candidates for mayor and vice-mayor of the National District? The first, involved between men’s and women’s organizations for financial and administrative management, and the second with more than fifteen years of municipal experience, among others from her role as councilor in the National District.

And what does Carlos Guzmán, the best current mayor in the country from Santo Domingo Norte, expect to run for re-election? A man who expresses himself in the language of the people because he lives among its difficulties, deficiencies, and demands well-being for those who live in the area that he administers.

And what does Alexandra Peña expect to run for mayor of Santo Domingo Este? Two decades watching her grow, a specialist in electronic media and an excellent administrator. The same happens with two that compete in Santo Domingo Oeste for the mayor’s office, it will be possible to see who scores better between Aquilino Serrata (Son) and Francisco Luciano. Santiago waits for Demóstenes Martínez, for the senatorial position, of whom he was one of the constituents of 2010, consecrated, prudent, brilliant and honest young leader.

And what does Altagracia Gonzáles expect for mayoress of Santiago de los caballeros? She was a legislator, a consecrated leader who confronts what affects her people; respected and loved for her ability to always serve with a smile that speaks of her great disposition.

I don’t know what answers they have because I haven’t asked any of them about the above. But, I tell you, quoting the most admirable scientist, Albert Einstein: “Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.” They may not know which path to take at a fork: one to the easy right with trees and toxic fruits, no birds or flowers; without soul. Another on the left, with fertile land waiting for human hands to develop wealth with social inclusion.
