The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) and the Municipality of General Pueyrredón suspended the license of a drunk driver who put his 11-year-old son to drive a truck with which they later suffered a rollover on the road, on the outskirts of the city of Mar del Plata.
As reported by the ANSV through its Twitter account, the “minor who was driving lost control of the vehicle and overturned” after “his father, drunk, put him behind the wheel” of a Toyota Hilux.
The agency specified that, in a joint decision with the communal government, “the father’s license was suspended and You must take a psychophysical examination to determine your aptitude at the wheel.“.
The executive director of the ANSV, Pablo Martínez Carignano, specified: “He had 1.43 alcohol in his blood and he put his 11-year-old son behind the wheel. They overturned in a ditch. It happened in Mar del Plata, on route 226”.
The event occurred at the height of the Santa Paula area, 10 kilometers west of the center of Mar del Plata. “Drunks behind the wheel don’t, and neither do children.. As a national State we are not going to allow these things to continue happening, that is why we ask for the suspension, and We are also going to ask the Family Court to intervene in the protection of the child,” said Martínez Carignano.
He further added: “Fortunately, both are fine. But this situation, once again, forces us to reflect on what we do as a society with our children.”

The local mayor, Guillermo Montenegro, said for his part: “From the municipality we work with awareness and prevention actions for the road safety of the neighbors and the articulation with the ANSV is essential to act quickly in cases as serious as this ” .
