Luis Frauca on the recovery of the industrial sector: “We are in a 7% recovery this year”

The industrial sector has been one of the hardest hit during the pandemic due to Covid-19, however, they are recovering.

The president of the Union of Industrialists of Panama, Luis Frauca, expressed that they see the trend of what they have fallen in 2020 and how they have been recovering, considering that so far this year they present a 7% recovery. “In any case, we must take into account that Covid is coming back,” he said.

He argued that among the most affected sectors are construction and all related industry: cement, steel and PVC profiles.

Frauca explained that they are also affected by the availability of cargo movement at the international level, either due to raw materials and materials that enter, and that we need, or for exports.
