As in other summers, the president was seen on the coast of Rocha practicing the sport that he has been passionate about for years

He Republic President, Luis Lacalle Pouwas captured in La Paloma, getting ready to surf on a beach in that Rocha resort.
In the photos, shared on Twitter by a user of that social network, the president can be seen wearing a neoprene suitnext to one surf table, accompanied by another person. Presidency sources confirmed to The Observer that the president is in La Paloma this weekend.
Lacalle Pou has been practicing this sport for years and even train several times a week with a method that was designed for surfers. This was told by his coach, Maximiliano Zegers, in a note with The Observer published in June 2022.
There, the coach said that the president trains at least three hours a week at the residence of Suárez and Reyes with a method known as Natural Ginástica.
“These are exercises that allow you to maintain performance, avoid injuries and prepare the body for when it is time to enter the water,” explained Zegers.
The president has already been seen surfing in Rocha since he took office. He January 1, 2021 was captured by photographer Leando Borba Surfing.
The photographer’s Instagram post caught the attention of Lacalle Pou, who replied: “Good photo! Luckily it’s not the one with the stick I gave myself!”
