Dozens of users on social networks have turned to criticizing the results of the psychometric test of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN-Managua). Some say that the places in the different careers of that house of studies were assigned by “connect” to high school graduates who are members of the Sandinista Youth (JS) or the government party.
Other users point out that their acquaintances or relatives obtained high marks of more than 90 points in the exam, but that it was not enough for them to classify in the first or second option. Some, with grades to enter their preferred career, were placed in the third option, they denounce. In addition, they questioned the method for classifying new university students.
According to the authorities of the UNAN-Managua 27,799 high school graduates from all over the country showed up to take the psychometric test, but the university only had space for 13,775 young people. Of this total of new admissions, 60% are women and 40% men, reported the house of studies.

Elimination of the admission test
Since 2021, the National Council of Universities (CNU) agreed that high-demand careers will carry out psychometric tests. This provision has been put into practice in four public universities, including UNA-Managua, where the courses in greatest demand are medicine, public accounting and English.
